If you’ve been on our Vaults tour you’ll have seen a larger version of this map displayed in the Vaults. Showing Dundee in the 1500s, this map is our version of a map you can find in an old book, we’ve updated a couple of parts including changing the style and digitised the image so it can be printed at high quality for A3 prints. You can see many of the streets of today are still here on this map, as well as many that were lost. The grey block line around the town shows where the town’s defensive walls were built in the 1580s.
