We can arrange a Waterfront tour any day and time we are available, and for any sort of group including: hen party; stag party; birthdays; work night’s out; teambuilding groups; corporate visitors or entertainment; reunions; charity groups; educational groups from primary to college / university level; or a group of friends or family.
Let our local tour guides show you some of the sights, history and culture in Dundee’s new waterfront developments.
*Please note there are no more public Waterfront tours in 2019, however you can book a private group tour – see below.
We’ll show you around the main streets of the waterfront area including central waterfront and the city quay passing: Slessor gardens, Discovery Point & RSS Discovery, HMS Unicorn and the V&A Dundee museum. Find out about the hidden history, statues and sights you may not have noticed, as well as the highlights in visitor attractions and civic spaces in the area.
The waterfront of Dundee has been constantly shifting throughout our history, now leaving behind it’s harbour and shipbuilding days, we’ll see what parts of maritime history have been left behind, and what the area is rapidly becoming – a centre for cultural and creative industries.
We’ve also teamed up with V&A Dundee to offer a 10% discount on exhibition tickets if you book this tour. See below for more details*

Currently showcasing is Videogames: Design/Play/Disrupt – the first exhibition to fully consider the complexity of videogames as one of the most important design fields of our time. From multi-million-dollar blockbuster titles to smaller independent games and the work of DIY artists from a hacker/maker culture, the exhibition explores current international debates as well as the creative contributions made to game culture by the players themselves. Find out more about the exhibition and V&A Dundee opening times at their website – www.vam.ac.uk/dundee
The meeting point for the tour is outside the V&A Dundee museum. At the start time we will quickly move from the museum to start the tour at the edge of the river (behind Discovery Point) so please arrive promptly for your tour (at least 5 minutes in advance).
This is within a 5 minute walk of all the bus routes and main bus station, and the City Circle 360 bus stops here. The train station is a short walk across the road to V&A Dundee.
There is a car park at Discovery Point as well as multi-story car parking at Greenmarket.
There are no stairs on this tour but there are several busy roads to cross with lots of traffic background noise during the tour. The walk is longer than some of our other tours, so please get in touch if you use any walking aids or are a slow walker.
If you are booking a private tour we can be very flexible and adapt the route where possible to suit your needs. If you have any accessibility needs or concerns please let us know in your message when you inquire about a private tour. Alternatively you can call us on 07446 625682 to discuss further.
